Operating for over 20 years, Port Douglas Sailmakers manufacture a wide range of products specialising in yacht sails and covers. 

We use extensive design expertise and pride ourselves on using only high quality fabric, materials and hardware to create a unique and long lasting product.

Port Douglas Sailmakers was originally formed in 1992 by John Rebbechi. In 1996 Malcolm Richardson joined the company and they became business partners. 

Since 2016 Malcolm Richardson has solely owned Port Douglas Sailmakers. 

Mal began his Sailmaking apprenticeship with North Sails (Sydney) in 1984. His time with North Sails gave him the experience and confidence to pursue his career in Sailmaking.

Mal specialises in racing and cruising sails and has always had a passion for sailing both recreationally and competitively. Mal is regularly on the water sailing his yacht in Port Douglas, Cairns, Whitsundays and Overseas. Having such a large involvement in the racing community has helped Mal grow his customer base in the competitive sailing world, cruising domestic market and commercially operated vessels.
